Vivaldi hatte großes Glück mit der Nachwelt. Dank einer Aufeinanderfolge von glücklichen Zufällen hat seine persönliche Sammlung von Manuskripten die Jahrhunderte überdauert, wodurch seine Musik erhalten, gespielt und aufgenommen werden konnte. Die Altistin Delphine Galou und Ottavio Dantone, Leiter der Accademia Bizantina, haben aus dieser wertvollen Sammlung von ungefähr 450 Kompositionen ausgegraben, um das Programm für das vorliegende Album zusammenzustellen.
Die neue Aufnahme aus der Vivaldi-Reihe, die NAÏVE vor vielen Jahren begonnen hat, bietet Kantaten und Arien für Alt und ist das Gegenstück zum gleichzeitig erscheinenden Album mit geistlichen Werken für Alt, die ebenfalls von Delphine Galou gesungen werden. Die Texte stammen oft von unbekannten Autoren und sind von eher geringem literarischen Interesse. Sie beschreiben eine pastorale Welt nach den damaligen Klischees, die von unglücklich verliebten Hirten und grausamen, falschen Nymphen bevölkert war.
Vivaldi nutzt die stereotypen Charaktere, um seine expressive Palette auf höchst subtile Weise zu variieren und den Opernstil in Werke einzuführen, die eigentlich für Salons bestimmt waren. Die außergewöhnliche Qualität seiner Musik überschreitet in der Regel die Grenzen der Auftragskompositionen, zu denen er sowohl in Mantua als auch in Venedig verpflichtet war. Die vorliegenden Kantaten werden durch einige Arien aus seinen vielen Opern ergänzt. Diese erlauben Delphine Galou, etwa durch das Pathos in “Liquore ingrato“ (Tito Manlio), die Zartheit in “Andrò fida e sconsolata“ aus derselben Oper oder die unschuldigen Anmut eines Kinderliedes in der Arie “È pur dolce ad un’anima amante“ (Il Giustino) die große Vielfalt ihrer Gesangskunst zum Ausdruck zu bringen. © François Hudry/Qobuz
