London Grammar haben sich Zeit gelassen. Seit ihrem 2013 erschienen ersten Album If You Wait (eine Qobuzissime-Platte!) sind Hannah Reid, Dot Major und Dan Rothman an die Spitze der Charts katapultiert worden und haben seitdem Truth Is A Beautiful Thing akribisch konzipiert. Das junge Londonder Trio, das seine Kompositionen um die umwerfende Stimme seiner Sängerin arrangiert, (bei der man automatisch an Romy Madley Croft von The XX, an Florence & The Machine oder gar an Künstler aus früheren Zeiten wie Tracey Thorn von Everything But The Girl denkt), verfolgt hier eine ähnlich Strategie. Und der Song Rooting For You, der die Platte eröffnet, ist wie eine Schmuckschatulle, in die sich das himmlische Organ der Sängerin hineinlegt. Dieser Gesang voller Schwerelosigkeit dient hier noch einmal einem atmosphärischen Pop, fast ein bisschen religiös und bei manchen Songs mit gewissen elektronischen New Age Einflüssen. Nach vier Jahren hat Hannah Reid ihre Stimmbänder noch weiter trainiert. Vor allem geht sie in ihrer Virtuosität niemals zu weit und lässt sie stets im Dienst ihrer Musik in ihre Songs einfließen.
