Josman

French rapper José Nzengo (October 28, 1992), aka Josman, started to write songs in his family home before taking to the clubs and rap battles in his local area in and around Vierzon. He relocated to Aubervilliers in the north east of Paris to study but dropped out of his course in Applied Foreign Languages before going on to win the Paris version of the End of the Weak rap challenge in 2013 and the Ready Or Not freestyle tournament in 2015. These victories further raised the MC’s profile, prompting an appearance on national television at France 4’s MasterClasse and paving the way for his debut mixtape, Echecs Positifs, released in 2015. That same year, he also issued an EP titled Fly Pack. After dropping the mixtapes Matrix (2016) and 000$ (2017), Nzengo made his official studio debut with J.O.$ (2018), which was certified gold in France after selling over 50,000 copies. Two singles from the album, “J’Aime bien” and “XS,” obtained platinum and gold certification and cemented his status as one of the strongest voices in Gallic hip-hop. He followed this success with the EP Factice / Feu.Bi in 2019 and dropped his second album, 2020’s SPLIT. Preceded by the singles “Bambi,” “Petite bulle,” and “J’allume,” the full-length featured cameos by Leto, Seth Gueko, and Zed. In 2021, he reached the French Top 20 with “F*cked Up 4,” the lead single from his third EP, MYSTR J.O.$. Only a year later, Josman returned with a chart-topping third LP titled M.A.N (Black Roses & Lost Feelings), which featured cameos by Guy2bezbar, Sofiane Pamart, Eazy Dew, and Soleil Noir.
