Trailer Trash Tracys
Idioma disponible: inglésLondon's Trailer Trash Tracys fashion a shoegaze-inspired sound that focuses on cavernous reverb and Suzanne Aztoria's deadpan vocals instead of massive walls of guitar effects. Gothenburg-born Aztoria and guitarist Jimmy Lee make up the group's core duo; the pair had been in another band together previously, but felt the approach was too manufactured and struck out on their own. They connected with bassist Adam Jaffrey and drummer Dayo James via mutual friends, and began playing live shows in February 2009, including a gig supporting the xx. Later that year, the band released its debut single, Candy Girl/Wish You Were Red, via No Pain in Pop. The single garnered acclaim from The Guardian and Dazed & Confused, but instead of continuing to release singles and play live to stay in the public eye, Trailer Trash Tracys concentrated on recording their debut album, Ester, which expanded the spooky pop template of Candy Girl/Wish You Were Red with more unexpected and experimental touches. Boasting cover artwork by Ultra Vivid Scene's Kurt Ralske, Ester arrived early in 2012 on Domino and Double Six Records. After the album's release, Trailer Trash Tracys largely disappeared for several years; when they resurfaced, Lee and Aztoria were the sole members once again. Their eclectic second album, 2017's Althaea, incorporated Latin and Asian influences into their dream pop.
