Stan Getz
Uno de los grandes saxofonistas tenores de la historia del jazz, Stan Getz (1927-1991) fue miembro de importantes big bands de swing antes de grabar su primer álbum como líder en 1946. Claramente influenciado en sus comienzos por Lester Young, entre 1958 y 1960 Getz vivió en Europa donde comenzó a desarrollar su propio estilo. De regreso en Estados Unidos tuvo un rol fundamental durante la era de la bossa nova al grabar los clásicos Samba con Charlie Byrd y Getz/Gilberto junto a Antonio Carlos Jobim y João Gilberto, disco que incluía la célebre "The Girl from Ipanema".
