Preditah
Idioma disponible: inglésBirmingham, England's Nathan Gerald, better known as Preditah, was one of the leading producers of grime's instrumental resurgence during the 2010s. While his tracks are every bit as bass-heavy and angular as one would expect from the genre, he emphasizes melodies and chord progressions. He often uses brassy orchestral synthesizer tones, lending a bit of bombast to his tunes. While his tracks can be a bit sinister, they're not quite as brash as other grime producers, and often have a bounciness inspired by U.K. garage and bassline. Preditah made his debut in 2011 with the four-song Solitaire EP, which quickly caught the attention of Boy Better Know's JME. By the end of the year, Preditah had released the Eightsome EP and remixed songs by Trim and Roots Manuva. Several more EPs appeared during the next few years, with 2012's giddy Circles being a highlight, and Preditah's "Vinyls VIP" was one of the standout tracks on Big Dada's 2013 compilation Grime 2.0. Remixes followed for Danny Brown, Chase & Status, Skepta, and many others. In 2015, Preditah made a surprising venture into more accessible territory with the house singles "Supernaturally" and the Craig David-sampling "Selecta." He returned to grime with 2017's Blank Canvas, Vol. 1 EP. Also appearing that year was the mix CD Fabriclive 92, which ranged from grime and garage to jungle.
