Palmistry
Idioma disponible: inglésDuring the 2010s, London-based producer/vocalist Palmistry (Benjamin Keating) received acclaim for his innovative blend of dancehall, alternative R&B, and grime. His airy, melancholy songs combine elements of contemporary Caribbean rhythms (with artists like Vybz Kartel and Popcaan being significant influences) and ambient synthesizer textures, along with Keating's softly sung introspective lyrics about loneliness and heartache. In addition to solo full-lengths Pagan (2016) and Afterlife (2019), Palmistry received notice for producing both albums by rapper Triad God. Palmistry first surfaced in 2011 with a self-released EP titled Cut. In 2012, he released a mixtape titled I Swear and produced NXB, the debut album by Triad God (Vietnam-born rapper Vinh Soi Ngan). He joined Dre Skull's Mixpak label in 2013, debuting with the single "Catch." Palmistry's Lil Gem EP on Lorenzo Senni's Presto!? label, the Mixpak single "Protector SE5," and the self-released EP Ascensión all arrived in 2014. He also collaborated with Sunless '97 for a song titled "Aia." The single "Memory Taffeta" appeared in 2015, and his debut album, Pagan, was released in 2016. In 2017, Palmistry sang on Mr. Mitch's "VPN" (from the album Devout) and made a guest appearance on a remix of Ravyn Lenae's "Spice." Palmistry produced Triad God's second album, Triad, which was released in February of 2019. Palmistry's own second album, Afterlife, followed in May, featuring production by SOPHIE, Benny Blanco, and Cashmere Cat.
