Neon Dreams
Idioma disponible: inglésFusing electronic dance energy with a live band ethos, Canadian group Neon Dreams absorbed sonic touches from across genres to create a blend of pop designed to stir emotions and inspire movement. Debuting as a quartet in the early 2010s, they issued their debut effort, The Last of Us, in 2015. The group pared down their ranks to a duo as the decade closed out. Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, the act was initially a quartet formed by rock-loving high school friends Frank Kadillac (vocals), Matt Gats (guitar), and Adrian Morris (drums), who later recruited Corey LeRue, an electronic-leaning DJ. Together, they created a dance-friendly outfit that could perform live as a band. Similar to acts such as the Chainsmokers, Lauv, or Major Lazer, they followed early single "Blinders" with their first EP, The Last of Us, which was released in 2015. The next year, they released the To You EP. Included on the seven-song set, a collaboration with Kardinal Offishall, "Marching Bands," became a Canadian hit, garnering award nominations and scoring a Canadian Radio Music Award. They followed the success of the single with third EP Wolf, Princess & Me, a concept effort focused on a fantastical love triangle. Around this time, LeRue left the group to focus on production and running a label, but he remained close with the trio in a behind-the-scenes capacity. The resulting trio's first output, 2018's "Shape of My Mind" single, arrived at the start of the year. Soon after, Gats parted ways with Neon Dreams. The Kadillac-Morris duo forged ahead with the singles "Guilty" and "High School Dropout."
