En 2003, los franceses Anthony Gonzalez y Nicolas Fromageau se ganaron la admiración internacional con su álbum Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts, un cóctel seductor de la estética shoegaze, el pop ambiental y texturas progresivas. Sin embargo, a esas alturas los M83 ya habían realizado varios trabajos, además de haber publicado su disco debut homónimo en 2001. Fromageau abandonó la formación luego del segundo álbum, mientras que Gonzalez regresó al estudio en 2005 para concretar Before The Dawn Heals, el disco más acabado de M83 hasta la fecha. Luego de grabar Digital Shades, Vol. 1, un conjunto de canciones ambientales inspiradas por Brian Eno y el Krautrock, Gonzalez convocó a los productores Ewan Pearson y Ken Thomas para realizar Saturdays=Youth, aparecido en 2008.© TiVo Leer más
