El cantante y compositor de country Jamey Johnson firmó contrato con BNA y lanzó su debut, The Dollar, en enero de 2006. Luego de una gira promocionando el álbum, el sello prescindió del artista. Luego Johnson se separó de su esposa, se divorció después y se aisló durante todo un año antes de reaparecer, renovado y listo para comenzar a trabajar en un nuevo álbum.
