Dylan Brady
Idioma disponible: inglésProducer/songwriter Dylan Brady applied his over-the-top genre-bending production to other artists' tracks before finding the perfect outlet for his inventive ideas as one-half of experimental pop duo 100 gecs. In addition to the critical and commercial success Brady enjoyed with 100 gecs, his multicolored sonics also pushed the limits of multiple Charli XCX songs, and he released several noisy solo recordings as well, including a 2019 collaboration with Josh Pan entitled This Car Needs Some Wheels. Brady was born and raised in the suburbs of St. Louis. He began making music during his high school days after being inspired by Kanye West's 2010 masterpiece My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Brady cut his teeth working on production for the experimental electronic and rap artists who existed in St. Louis underground circles around the early 2010s, working closely with friend Aaron Cartier as the two developed a particularly lawless production style. In 2015, he self-released his solo debut, All I Ever Wanted, and the next year, he relocated to Los Angeles to further pursue music work. Brady and Chicago musician Laura Les came together in 2016 to form 100 gecs, recording an EP in Les' Chicago home for fun over the course of a single week. The duo would go dormant for a few years as both members worked on solo material (with Brady steadily releasing new EPs like 2016's Choker and 2018's Peace & Love), but in 2019 they reunited to work on their debut full-length, 1000 Gecs, which caught on somewhat unexpectedly. That year, he also collaborated with Josh Pan on the full-length release This Car Needs Some Wheels. In addition to ceaseless solo output and a heightened focus on 100 gecs, Brady continued production work for artists such as Charli XCX, 03 Greedo, Lil West, Throb, and many others.
