DC Salas
Idioma disponible: inglésBrussels-based DJ and producer DC Salas' music has progressed from tuneful, emotive house and techno to darker material incorporating electro, disco, and New Beat influences. He earned major support for his 2010 debut EP, Peru, and soon became a mainstay at famed Brussels club Fuse, additionally touring throughout Europe and performing at festivals like Pukkelpop and Paradise City. His debut album, The Unspoken, appeared in 2017. Since then, he has continued releasing more haunting, retro-tinged EPs like 2019's Dawn Nostalgia and 2022's Voces. Diego Cortez Salas named his first song "Peru" in honor of his heritage. His Peru EP was released by Doctor Vinyl Records in 2010, and it immediately earned attention, with DJs like Ivan Smagghe and Maya Jane Coles featuring it in their sets. E.V.O.L. and A Positive Shade followed in 2011, and a 2014 collaboration with Mugwump explored EBM and New Beat influences, which would continue to surface throughout Salas' subsequent releases. The EPs Don't Be Scared (2014) and When You Left (2016) appeared on Biologic Records, the label Salas co-runs with French producer Abstraxion. The Unspoken, Salas' first full-length, arrived in 2017, featuring collaborations with Belgian duo Joy Wellboy. Indecisive, featuring a Fort Romeau remix, appeared in 2019, and Correspondant released Dawn Nostalgia the same year. Further EPs were issued by labels like Live at Robert Johnson, Futureboogie, and Pets Recordings during the early 2020s. Healing Is a Process, featuring the breakbeat-driven "Hidden Dancefloors," appeared in 2022, followed by Time Well Spent and Voces.
