Brooke Annibale

With her dusky voice, Brooke Annibale crafts moody, ethereal anthems that straddle the line between atmospheric indie rock and emotionally raw singer/songwriter folk. Following her 2010 debut, Annibale came to broader recognition with 2015's The Simple Fear and 2018's Hold to the Light, the latter of which included the song "We're Not Ready," featured on Grey's Anatomy. Better By Now arrived in 2022. Born in 1987 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Annibale began playing guitar in her teens and by age 17 had released her first album. After high school, she attended Belmont University, graduating in 2009 with a degree in Music Business. In 2010, she made her official solo debut with Silence Worth Breaking, recorded in Nashville with Paul Moak. Her sophomore album, Words in Your Eyes, arrived in 2013. Two years later, she returned with the Justin March-produced The Simple Fear. That same year, she gained wider visibility touring with artists like Josh Ritter, Iron & Wine, and Rufus Wainwright, among others. She also took home the award for Best Folk/Singer-Songwriter at the Independent Music Awards. In 2018, Annibale delivered her fourth studio album, Hold to the Light. Produced by Sam Kassirer, it included the track "Were Not Ready,' which was featured on the TV drama Grey's Anatomy. Better By Now appeared in September 2022 and found Annibale exploring themes of isolation and anxiety.
