Bria Jhane

Bria Jhane is a contemporary R&B vocalist who specializes in refined ballads and slow jams. Through the VH1 series Signed, the singer, whose voice has hints of Jazmine Sullivan and Keyshia Cole, landed a major-label contract in 2017. She debuted that year with a trio of singles that led to an EP entitled What Is Love?, released in 2019. A native of Houston, Bria Jhane made an early emotional connection to music, drawn closest to firmly soul-rooted R&B by the likes of Jill Scott and Jazmine Sullivan. In high school, a recording she made of herself singing between classes was uploaded to social media and reached producers at VH1, who approached her to compete in the 2017 reality series Signed. Jhane took part and won, consequently signing on with Radio Killa, the Republic-supported label run by the-Dream, a Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and producer whose hits include Rihanna's "Umbrella" and Beyoncé's "Single Ladies." Jhane quickly got to work with the-Dream and the similarly acclaimed Carlos "Los da Mystro" McKinney, and by the end of 2017 released "Over You," "Fragile," and "Text Back," all of which were atmospheric ballads showcasing her mature voice. Jhane returned in March 2019 with What Is Love?, a five-song EP of similar makeup written and produced primarily by the-Dream and McKinney.
