Ben Khan

Combining elements of indie electronica, alternative R&B, funk, hip-hop, and South Asian music, Ben Khan is a multi-instrumentalist and producer based in London, England. He introduced his genre-defying tendencies with the EP 1992 (named for his birth year) in 2014. As a preteen, Khan already had an old keyboard, got a guitar, and soon started learning to record songs with Cubase. He was performing locally by the age of 12, around the time he moved to London from Oxfordshire. At 15, he lost his mother to cancer and delved deeper into making music and another major interest, watching films. After high school, Khan enrolled briefly at Leeds University to study music, quickly deciding that academia wasn't for him. Working on his own, Khan released his first single, "Drive, Pt. 1," at the age of 20 in 2013. His debut EP, 1992, followed on the Blessed Vice label in 2014 and garnered millions of plays at streaming sites. He released 2015's 1000 EP before stepping out of the limelight to develop his sound away from public input. For his full-length debut, Khan signed with the Dirty Hit label and recorded with collaborators including acclaimed British producer Flood (Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey). In April 2018, he re-emerged with "2000 Angels," teasing the yet unannounced title with more song releases in the months to follow. Khan also directed all of the music videos for the album.
