Ant Saunders

Ant Saunders' expressive, soul-styled vocal delivery sat well on the stripped-down covers of artists like Sam Smith and Adele that he began sharing in 2015. Gradually fleshing out arrangements with electronic components and hip-hop-inspired beats, he released his debut album, Bettertrash, in 2018. The breakout viral hit "Yellow Hearts" followed in 2019. A New Jersey native, Anthony Saunders began posting covers of hit songs by artists including Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and Drake in early 2015. He uploaded his own composition, the acoustic love song "Sweet Tooth," in March 2016. With his own track, "Time," featuring the production team Otaku, he entered the realm of trip-hop and rap in early 2018. Within a few months, Saunders' smooth, melodic delivery was featured on songs by Otaku and 3G, and he issued the 12-track album Bettertrash in June 2018. Continuing to cover other artists, he released his takes on Drake and Joji that year, as well, before presenting the three-song EP A Christmas Trash in December. His breakthrough year came in 2019 with the off-center "Yellow Hearts." Released that June, the song went viral, garnering millions of streams before the end of the year and landing him on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart in November 2019. The following year saw the arrival of the EP Bubble, which included the singles "Pedestrian" and "MISCOMMUNICATIONS."
