Jason Wilber
Idioma disponible: inglésIndiana native Jason Wilber has built a wide-ranging career as singer, songwriter, producer, radio host, and in-demand guitarist for a multitude of artists in the folk and Americana world. While his most recognizable gig has been as the longtime guitarist for folk legend John Prine, Wilber has shared the stage and studio with Iris DeMent, Greg Brown, Over the Rhine, and Sheryl Crow, among many others. Running parallel to his career as a trusted sideman is a recording career as a solo artist that began with 1998's Lost in Your Hometown. Over the next decade, Wilber managed a steady output of well-crafted Americana-oriented releases, including 2000's Behind the Midway, 2004's King for a Day, and 2006's Lazy Afternoon, while juggling his day job recording and touring with Prine. In 2006 he began a decade-long run hosting In Search of a Song, a syndicated radio series featuring interviews with musicians, songwriters, and producers. In 2009 he resumed his solo career, delivering a new studio album, the atmospheric Ghost of Summers Past, as well as his second edition of Live and Otherwise, which collected unreleased live recordings from throughout his career. The following year he donated a song and served as co-executive producer of the benefit compilation Coal Country Music, which also featured Willie Nelson, Tom T. Hall, Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams, and others. Following a 2014 EP called Secret Window, Wilber played guitar and acted as co-executive producer on Prine's 2016 Grammy-nominated duets album, For Better, or Worse. That same year he issued a new release of his own, a covers LP called Echoes.
