Making their public debut at the age of 17 with their first album I, Gemini in 2016, Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth have since transcended “teen pop”. This third album confirms the two childhood friends as sure-fire Britpop stars and proves that they have a coherent message to give. After an eclectic first album, it seems that these English girls have found some consistency since working with David Wrench, a British studio legend known for his collaborations with The xx, FKA twigs and David Byrne. Wrench, who’d already worked on their previous album, I’m All Ears, really enhances the duo’s pure and effective songwriting, which includes 80s synths, house beats, disco bass and acoustic guitars whilst maintaining a clear melody. With vocals that sound like a mash-up of Kate Bush, St. Vincent and Carly Rae Jepsen, Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth prove that they’re children of pop. They’re as comfortable with folk ballads (like Two Ribbons) as they are with tracks that have a sound similar to Muse (like Insect Loop) or electronic crossovers (like Happy New Year). With their fluid music and super catchy choruses, Let’s Eat Grandma are on their way to becoming a big thing in the world of pop.

Objetivo la luna: The Dark Side Of The Moon

Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm, Max Richter, Poppy Ackroyd, Peter Broderick, Joana Gama...
