Lott apenas sí tiene medida en cuanto a deshonestidad, ya que con todo descaro adopta fraseos de Beyoncé, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Duffy y Joss Stone por igual, pero consigue salirse con la suya en su urraqueo gracias al transparente y pícaro ímpetu de su personalidad. Por supuesto, le ayuda a conseguirlo el tener un repertorio sólido (en la composición de algunas de las canciones ha intervenido la propia Lott), que queda en la franja entre lo clásico y lo contemporáneo y que por tanto recuerda a las producciones de Mark Ronson, lo que a su vez hace pensar en un Back to Black más ligero y vivo. Lott nunca trata de parecer muy madura para su edad, y es un acierto que la producción sea moderna. Lott canta con un entusiasmo apropiado para su edad que la sostiene en los momentos en los que Turn It Up Louder se desliza por su superficie, a la vez que hace que el disco (en sus mejores momentos) resulte bastante pegadizo también.
