Garbage regresó en 2012 tras siete años de silencio con Not your kind of people, seguido cuatro años después por Strange little birds. Ambos trabajos se asemejan bastante, en particular en su manifiesta intención de distanciarse de lo hecho por la banda en los noventa durante sus quince minutos de fama. A este Garbage 2016 ya no le interesa treparse a las modas, pero tampoco se aferra a su pasado. La banda continúa fascinada con las posibilidades del estudio de grabación, llenando cada tema con una multitud de trucos y texturas: para Garbage la forma siempre es el contenido. Garbage regresó en 2012 tras siete años de silencio con Not your kind of people, seguido cuatro años después por Strange little birds. Ambos trabajos se asemejan bastante, en particular en su manifiesta intención de distanciarse de lo hecho por la banda en los noventa durante sus quince minutos de fama.
