Pink Floyd asegura que no tenían intención de grabar otro disco en directo cuando empezaron la gira de The Division Bell, pero al interpretar The Dark Side of the Moon entero el grupo se convenció de grabar otro disco doble en directo, que tuvo el título de Pulse.
