Un año después de su debut Animal, María Becerra regresa en 2022 con La nena de Argentina, su segundo larga duración. En este proyecto Becerra busca definir su propia personalidad artística, optando por no incluir colaboraciones y por evitar quedar encasillada en la música urbana de temática predominantemente sexual. Así, al usual trap y reguetón de alto voltaje se suman excursiones por ritmos como bachata, cumbia, pop y balada con letras de mayor sensibilidad. Producido por Big One, Nico Cotton y Xross, La nena de Argentina incluye los adelantos "Ojalá" y "Automático".
