Gaitanes

Panamanian brothers Ricardo and Alberto Gaitán began performing in the late '80s as Impakto. After completing their university studies, the duo decided to become full-time musicians and adopted the moniker Gaitanes. Their debut album, Entrégate, came out in 1997, a year when they also represented Panama at the Festival OTI de la Canción. The brothers' careers truly took off after they relocated to Miami in 1999 and started working with Emilio Estefan. Over the next two decades, the duo amassed a considerable string of hits and Latin Grammy nominations, both as performing artists and as producers, composers, and arrangers of tropical music and Latin pop for artists such as Isaac Delgado, Gloria Estefan, and Natalia Jiménez, among many others. Their 2014 release, The Kings, found the brothers dueting with the likes of Willie Colón, Sergio Vargas, Tito Nieves, and Rey Ruiz, while 2016's La Parranda de Gaitanes paid tribute to Panamanian icon Lucho Azcárraga.
