La transformación de Sonny Moore de cantante de post-hardcore a productor de dubstep no podría haber sido más exitosa, aunque aún resta por verse si será capaz de extender su capacidad para realizar sencillos de impacto a un álbum completo. El EP Bangarang no despeja las dudas, pues buena parte de sus siete temas siguen la misma fórmula utilizada en sus trabajos precedentes, hecha de incesantes zumbidos, voces entrecortadas, loops repetitivos y elementos de rap-metal. Si bien Bangarang ofrece algunas señales positivas en el original uso de samples de The Doors en "Breaking' a Sweat" y en la colaboración con la vocalista Ellie Goulding en "Summit", Skrillex deberá renovar su arsenal de trucos si pretende seguir liderando la ola del suceso.
