Americana, las raíces de Norteamérica

Aunque esta etiqueta surgida por exigencias del marketing pueda resultar un tanto confusa, lo cierto es que Americana es el útil nombre que sirve para referirse desde hace dos décadas a la fusión de rock, country, blues y rhythm&blues. Y, como en las mejores familias, en este género hay lugar para todos: para la hija rebelde, el cuñado enterado, el padre alterado, la prima intensa, etc.

Hace 34 años irrumpía Nirvana, una inesperada sacudida punk a finales del siglo XX. Carrera relámpago, éxito mundial, hordas de fans y epílogo trágico para un fenómeno planetario. El caso es que tal vez la banda de Kurt Cobain haya sido la última de la historia del rock. El último fenómeno dentro de ese género musical capaz de unir a una generación, y eso por no decir su último gran mito.
