Emilie Gassin
Born in Melbourne, Emilie Gassin moved to England before settling in Paris, where she first made a name for herself in women's soccer, before turning to music. After a spell in the top flight with Paris-Saint-Germain, the Australian picked up her guitar to compose songs influenced by folk, soul and 1970s American pop. In 2013, she released her debut track "A Bit of Love", followed by an EP of the same name and a festival tour. Two years later, the brassy pop melody of "Curiosity Kill the Cat" served as a prelude to the album Curiosity, which saw the light of day in March 2015.
