One organ, one drumkit, what else do you need?! With Movin’ Blues, the High Priestess of the Hammond returns to the same formula that first established her as a legend. At the age of 81, Rhoda Scott has lost none of her elegance, generosity or enthusiasm, alternating between refined blues and explosive percussion. And oh, what swing! With the help of Thomas Derouineau’s conducting baton (or is it a magic wand?!) she sets fire to everything that her fingers - and feet - touch. Whether it’s one of her own compositions or a gem by the likes of Duke Ellington, Antonio Carlos Jobim or Michel Legrand, the organist brings out the best in her favourite instrument and her sound fuses perfectly with her that of her accomplice for the day.
