Desde hace una década Sophie Hunger viene reactualizando su más que sugestivo folk. Personalidad de gustos eclécticos, la suiza puede tanto decantarse por el jazz como por el pop o el rock. Y con este álbum lleva su curiosidad más lejos, puesto que al haberse concebido en Berlín cuenta con un verdadero arsenal de sonoridades elecrónicas. Molecules es una joyita que comienza poderosamente con un corte comprometido: She Makes The President. Y es que la creadora de la banda sonora de La vida de Calabacín ha escrito un tema que parece directamente salido de algún blockbuster norteamericano. ¡Y vaya blockbuster! Compuesto antes de la elección de Donald Trump, Sophie Hunger imagina aquí la victoria de una mujer «dura» y que asume la presidencia. Un corte de ritmo progresivo, minimalista, y estribillo resultón, al que la evolución de los acontecimientos políticos ha aportado aún mayor espesor conceptual. Y el disco continúa sin tiempos muertos, sin dejar de sorprendernos a cada giro. Agente doble, a sueldo tanto de la guitarra acústica (Silver Lane) como de los beats fantasmagóricos (Tricks), tampoco le hace ascos a los compases africanos (I Open A Bar) para culminar el conjunto con un final romántico en fran-glish (Coucou). No hay duda, Sophie Hunger sabe dónde buscar los mejores mimbres y utilizarlos con artesanal maestría, cuidando cada detalle.
