Si bien Lil Yatchy siempre fue bastante impredecible, nada en su catálogo hacía presagiar un álbum como Let's Start Here. Aunque el rap no ha desaparecido por completo, Let's Start Here es más bien un disco de soul psicodélico que de rap, donde predominan los instrumentos orgánicos, las guitarras de sonido jazz y rimbombantes baterías y sintetizadores, y cuyas influencias abarcan desde Tame Impala y Parliament a M83, Mac DeMarco y The Weeknd. Un laberinto de extraños experimentos sonoros, el disco resulta sin embargo cohesivo gracias a la personalidad del propio artista. En efecto, es precisamente la unión entre la característica vulnerabilidad de sus letras y el deseo de arriesgarse con nuevos estilos lo que vuelve a estas canciones interesantes y nos permite comprender mejor la curiosa evolución creativa de Lil Yatchy.
