En el álbum Konk de 2008 de los Kooks, el trabajo siguiente a su debut, Inside In Inside Out, el cual tuvo muy buena acogida, el joven grupo de brit pop ofrece otro conjunto de pegadizas canciones guiadas por guitarra. Reafirmado con la producción fresca y clara de Tony Hoffer (Beck, The Fratellis), este segundo trabajo nos presenta al precoz líder de los Kooks, Luke Pritchard, interpretando más temas con gran gancho, tal y como queda patente con el brioso “Always Where I Need to Be” y el discordante “Mr. Maker”. Otros temas destacados son el insistente tema inicial, “See the Sun”, y la canción de tintes reggae “Tick of Time”. Ligeramente más enérgico y eléctrico que su predecesor de mayor tendencia acústica, Konk resultará atractivo a los fans de Inside, aunque probablemente ampliará el público de este grupo de Brighton gracias a su cálida inmediatez.
