Agrupando un poco de la sustancia de la música tradicional portuguesa con un espíritu natural por las entonaciones musicales universales, Madredeus nos regala efectos casi angelicales dentro de su sonido. Antología es una compilación de algunas de las mejores canciones del grupo, mayormente basadas en las composiciones de Pedro Ayres Magalhães (un veterano del escenario del rock portugués) y de la vocalista Teresa Salgueiro (cuya voz fascinante revela la tradición portuguesa del fado natural, pero también un vínculo con los cánticos líricos). "A Vaca de Fogo" ("The Holy Cow") y "O Pastor" ("The Shepherd"), ambas incluidas, son dos de los números más alegres del grupo, en los cuales el ritmo de las guitarras acústicas junto con la presencia encantada del acordeón se complementa con la cautivadora voz de Salgueiro.
