Jorge Blanco

Jorge Blanco is a bilingual pop singer and actor from Mexico who won an international following as León Vargas on the Disney Channel teen drama Violetta. Before landing the role in 2012, he was known in Mexico as a contestant on High School Musical, la Selección, a competition for a lead role in the Argentine version of the High School Musical film. Though he didn't win, he was cast as Jorge in Disney Channel Latinoamérica's 2008 feature High School Musical: El Desafío (also known as Viva High School Musical). He was also a regular on the Disney musical comedy series Cuando Toca la Campana from 2011 to 2012 before being cast on Violetta. About a teenaged musician who returns home to Buenos Aires after living in Europe, Blanco starred alongside Martina Stoessel's Violetta for the show's three-season run. During that time, he appeared on several music releases associated with the series, including 2012's Violetta [Original Soundtrack] and 2013's Violetta: Cantar es Lo Que Soy. The final episode of the series aired in February 2015 and was followed by a show tour that sold over a million tickets across four continents. Based on Stoessel's autobiography, Tini: The Movie (Tini - El Gran Cambio de Violetta) arrived in theaters in 2016. Blanco was featured in the film and on the soundtrack, which was packaged with Stoessel's solo debut, Tini (Martina Stoessel). Blanco then relocated to Los Angeles, California and signed with Disney's Hollywood Records, which released his first solo single, "Risky Business," in March 2017. He followed it with another piece of slinky pop, "Summer Soul," in time for summer.
