Harrdy Sandhu

After an injury ended what had been a promising career playing cricket, Harrdy Sandhu, born September 6, 1986, in Patiala, India, became a popular singer and actor. A onetime member of India’s Under-19 World Cup Team, he left the game in 2007 after an arm injury kept him from continuing his world-class career as a bowler. After undergoing steady training, he released his debut album, This Is Harrdy Sandhu, in 2012. Though the album was less successful than he hoped, his next single, 2013’s “Soch” became a smash and established him as a recording artist. That song had been co-written by hitmaker Janni, and their partnership would lead to more hits such as “Backbone” and “Joker”. He started a side gig as a film actor with 2014’s Yaaran Da Katchup. DHe enjoyed the biggest hit of his career to that point in 2017 with “Naah”, another collaboration with Jaani and composer B Praak. The hits kept coming and in 2021 he starred in the Bollywood film 83 playing Madan Lal, one of the biggest cricket stars in Indian history. Such was his popularity that four years after its initial release, “Naah” would again hit the top 10 in India.
