Dave Holland
Dave Holland, né à Wolverhampton le 1er novembre 1946 est un contrebassiste autodidacte qui a parcouru un impressionnant chemin dans l'univers du jazz. Repéré par Miles Davis, il remplace rien moins que Ron Carter. Il finit par créer son propre quintette dans les années 1980 et enregistre pour ECM puis Dare2 dans les années 2000. À son tour il découvre Steve Coleman et boucle une bien jolie ronde musicale. En 2010, Dave Holland s'ouvre à la musique flamenco en compagnie du guitariste Pepe Habichuela avant de former le quartette Prism inauguré en 2013 par un album homonyme. Son catalogue en leader comprend également les albums essentiels Conference of the Birds (1972) et Jumpin' In (1983).
