Artea Quartet
Formed in 2001 by students at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Artea Quartet is comprised of violinists Thomas Gould and Rhys Watkins, violist Benjamin Roskams, and cellist Ashok Klouda. The group was coached by the Amadeus Quartet, the Alberni Quartet, and the Wihan Quartet, before establishing its own identity as one of the rising string quartets in the U.K. The Artea Quartet has performed at the BBC Proms, Wigmore Hall, and the Purcell Room at the Southbank Centre, and has participated in competitions and festivals. It has also performed for broadcasts on BBC Radio 3. The ensemble has recorded for Champs Hill Records, releasing a four-CD set of Mendelssohn's Complete Works for String Quartet in 2013, and Schubert's String Quartet No. 15 in G major, D887 in 2017.
