Avant de s’atteler à Grace of Your Love, le chanteur et parolier Luke Jenner est devenu père, a perdu sa mère qui s’est suicidée, et s’est converti au catholicisme. Ces événements ont nourri la production la plus spécifique et la plus orientée des chansons du répertoire de Rapture, dans laquelle la mort, la dévotion et les enfants sont des thèmes récurrents, exprimés dans des états de grande angoisse ou de joie rédemptrice. Le son du groupe reste enraciné dans une forme de dance-rock inspiré du post-punk et de la new wave qui dévie parfois vers la dance music pure et dure. Philippe Zdar de Cassius a assuré la totalité de la production, et comme dans Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix de Phoenix, autre album où il a mis la patte, les chansons les plus courtes comme les plus longues semblent construites à la perfection. In the Grace of Your Love est l’album le plus puissant et le plus vital du groupe à ce jour.
