Avec les Byrds ou entre ses complices Neil Young et Stephen Stills, certes. Mais aussi seul. Oui tout seul (ou presque) David Crosby fait aussi des merveilles comme sur If I Could Only Remember My Name, son tout premier disque en solitaire que le morse de Los Angeles publia en février 1971. Du 100% hippie « made in Californie » pour lequel Crosby a convié la crème du genre. On retrouve ainsi des membres du Jefferson Airplane (Grace Slick, David Freiberg, Paul Kantner), de Hot Tuna (Jorma Kaukonen et Jack Casady) et du Grateful Dead (Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart). Mais aussi Joni Mitchell, Neil Young et Graham Nash. Compositions sublimes, harmonies merveilleuses et virtuosité instrumentale, voilà un nirvana baba de folk rock se bonifiant avec le temps.
