Publiée en 2001, la compilation Greatest Hits propose de retrouver une sélection arrangée par ordre chronologique de titres marquants issus du répertoire de la formation britannique culte The Cure, emmenée par l'auteur-compositeur-interprète Robert Smith. Décliné en plusieurs versions, dont l'une proposant un disque bonus de versions acoustiques, l'album se penche sur la période 1979-1996 au fil de classiques de la trempe de "Boys Don't Cry" (1979), "A Forest" (1980), "In Between Days" (1985), "Just Like Heaven" (1987), "Lullaby" (1989) ou "Friday I'm In Love" (1992), auxquels viennent se greffer "Wrong Number", publié sur la compilation Galore en 1997 ainsi que les inédits "Cut Here" et "Just Say Say". Troisième best of du groupe en date, Greatest Hits constitue une nouvelle porte d'entrée dans l'un des univers les plus singuliers de l'ère post-punk.
