Le compositeur, producteur et chanteur Christophe a sorti Aimer ce que Nous Sommes en juin 2008. Considérant la rareté de ses enregistrements, les nouveautés constituent toujours un événement. Cela dit, cet enregistrement, peut-être le plus ambitieux à ce jour, le place dans la catégorie des expérimentalistes, iconoclastes de la variété aux côtés de Robert Wyatt, Scott Walker, Kevin Coyne et compagnie. Baigné de mélodies et de fragments de mélodies sublimes, cet opus à la production généreuse est riche en textures, en atmosphères et en sons électro joliment intercalés. Cet album fantomatique héberge des éléments de souvenirs (pas de nostalgie) doux amers. On remarquera notamment le récitatif ambiant "Magda", la pop décadente et entraînante de "Tonight, Tonight", l’envoûtant jazz-flamenco d’"Odore de Femina" (avec Erik Truffaz à la trompette) et la majestueuse "Parle-Lui de Moi". Cet album est la preuve que Christophe, tel le bon vin, gagne à prendre de l’âge.
