Avec A Bigger Bang, les Stones offrent enfin un album solide, réjouissant et homogène dans lequel tous les membres apparaissent en pleine forme. Keith Richards est tout en amplitude et en souplesse, Charlie Watts en rigueur et en contrôle, Ronnie Wood plaque une slide guitare graisseuse et exaltée, et Mick Jagger s’amuse comme un petit fou, sortant des blagues salaces, taquinant les néo-conservateurs et semblant plus impliqué dans les Stones qu’il ne l’était depuis des années. Mais le meilleur dans l’album, c’est que le groupe accepte son âge et n'en fait pas tout un foin : pas de déni, de tentatives de ressembler à un groupe plus jeune. Ils ont tout simplement accepté ce en quoi ils excellent et le font comme la chose la plus naturelle au monde.
