SDM

With his gravelly voice and his vivid storytelling skills, the rapper known as SDM quickly positioned himself at the forefront of the French hip-hop scene. Born Beni Mosabu in December 1995 in Clamart, Hauts-de-Seine, he began his career by uploading a track titled “#OSCQV” to his video streaming channel in 2015. Follow-up singles “Medellin” and “187” dropped in 2018 and “Shottas” arrived a year later. Decided to pick up the pace, SDM had a prolific year in 2019 with the release of the singles “A V L D,” “Cala Boca,” “Rule Number Five,” “12h,” and “Jack Fuego,” a collaboration with fellow 92 rapper PLK whose video clip surpassed a million views on streaming platforms. This caught the attention of 92i’s head honcho Booba, who swiftly added SDM to the label’s roster. “La Zone,” SDM’s first single for the label, featured the Duc de Boulogne himself and was released in 2020. The two rappers continued to collaborate as SDM appeared in Booba’s “Bonne Journée” (2021) and the latter returned the favor by showing up on Mosabu’s studio debut Ocho (2021) on the track “Daddy.” Produced by Paul Redon, Bramsito, and Trent 700, the track climbed to Number 14 on the French charts and became one of SDM’s biggest hits.
