NS Yoon-G

Born as "Christine Kim" in Seoul, South Korea, on September 6, 1988, Kim Yoon-ji is a Korean-American entertainer whose bubbly brand of K-pop found a home on the Gaon charts during the 2010s. She moved to the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles as a grade schooler and eventually enrolled at UCLA to study music, although she left school before graduation and returned to South Korea to launch her music career. "My Head Hurts," her debut single, was released in 2009, followed by "Don't Go Back." Both songs were included in her debut EP, Ambitious, which arrived in May 2010 and peaked at Number 31 on the Gaon Album Chart. Another EP, Time To Fly High, was released that October. Kim Yoon-ji reached a new level of commercial success with her first full-length album, 2012's Neo Spirit, which reached Number 15 in South Korea and produced the Top 40 singles "Talk Talk Talk," "Miss You Again," "What Do You Know," and "The Reason I Became a Witch." Another album, Skinship, was released later that year and became an even bigger hit, charting at Number 6. Featuring the Top 20 songs "If You Love Me" and "Yasisi," The Way 2 was released in April 2014 and paved the way for Kim Yoon-ji's highest-charting single to date, "Fluttered Feelings," which climbed to Number 6 that same year. The maintained her space in the mainstream for several years with releases like Sincerely and "Honey Summer," then returned in 2021 with a reimagined version of her 2012 hit "If You Love Me," featuring K-pop rapper Joohoney.
