Kristian Bush

Kristian Bush is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and one-half of folk-rock duo Billy Pilgrim and Grammy Award-winning country duo Sugarland. In 2015, he issued his debut solo effort, Southern Gravity, and in 2022 he released 52 ATL x BNA, the first installment of a four-volume, 52-song set. Kristian Merrill Bush was raised just outside of Knoxville in the small town of Sevierville, the same Smoky Mountain community that gave the world Dolly Parton. He made his musical debut on the violin in the single digits, alongside his younger brother Brandon, opening for Parton. After switching to guitar and attending Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Bush started the folk-rock duo Billy Pilgrim with Andrew Hyra. The pair issued five albums together, including two for Atlantic Records, before going their separate ways in 2001. He co-founded Sugarland the following year with singer Jennifer Nettles and released the first of a long string of successful albums and number one singles. In April 2015 Bush released his first solo album, the Streamsound Records-issued Southern Gravity, which featured the hit single "Trailer Hitch." Sugarland reunited in 2017 for a series of shows after a five-year hiatus. Two years later, they issued their sixth studio effort, Bigger. 2019 also saw Bush release a solo EP, Summertime Six Pack. In 2022, Bush unveiled the opening installment of an ambitious four-part project. Titled 52 ATL x BNA, the LP paid tribute to classic Nashville storytelling and Atlanta R&B.
