Agaw Agimat
Agaw Agimat presents an unusual image and sound. Their sound is a modern punky sort of take on big band-era swing. How did this Filipino group come about? Well, they started jamming together in 1993 with no name. In fact, they went on that way for quite a while, not picking up their current title of Agaw Agimat until later. The name means "seize an amulet." Their first album, R-15, was released early in 1994. By late 1996, they had let loose with the follow-up, Patak.
