We the Generation is the second album from Rudimental, whose Home was immensely successful, particularly in the group's native U.K., where it topped the pop chart, went platinum, and won some awards. There's a continuity of approach here, with drum'n'bass rhythms either the basis or a major component of just over half of the tracks, and each track features at least one guest vocalist, usually an upcoming or recently established figure. With only a couple exceptions -- Ella Eyre, MNEK -- the rotation of guest vocalists is all new for Rudimental. The careening drum'n'bass-rooted tracks are bound to get the most attention, but Will Heard's bluesy soul collaboration "Go Far," along with the smooth and silvery "Common Emotion," featuring MNEK, are surprising standouts. Dizzee Rascal, Bobby Womack, and Ed Sheeran are among the other notable contributors.
