Jonas Kaufmann gibt hier sein Debüt von Radamès, Anja Harteros gibt Verdis Aida zum Besten und Ludovic Tézier interpretiert das erste Mal Amonasro. Pappano bietet den Stars des Sainte-Cécile Akademie Orchesters mit dem Konzertsaal des Parco della Musica in Rom eine einmalige Kulisse. Die Stars stehen ihrer Musik in nichts nach. Die neue Aida Interpretation ist zweifelsfrei ein Highlight dieser Platte. Die Interpreten übertreiben es absichtlich nicht, was definitiv Pappanos Einfluss zuzuschreiben ist, denn dieser ist bekannt dafür sich auf das Wesentliche zu konzentrieren… © Qobuz

3 großartige Sänger der neuen Generation in einem Rollenspiel welches das lyrische Event des Jahres zu sein scheint. Jonas Kaufmann gibt hier sein Debüt von Radamès, Anja Harteros gibt Verdis Aida zum Besten und Ludovic Tézier interpretiert das erste Mal Amonasro. All dies wurde unter traumhaften Bedingungen aufgenommen: es ist eine komplette Studioaufnahme, und keine einzelnen Sessions oder ein Zusammenbau einzelner Proben, sondern ein großes Ganzes eines langen Prozesses dem einige Konzerte vorausgingen. Ebenfalls hervorgehoben wird die ausgezeichnete Ekaterina Semenchuk mit Amnéris, einer Rolle der sie schon mehrmals die Ehre erwies. Pappano bietet den Stars des Sainte-Cécile Akademie Orchesters mit dem Konzertsaal des Parco della Musica in Rom eine einmalige Kulisse. Die Stars stehen ihrer Musik in nichts nach. Die neue Aida Interpretation ist zweifelsfrei ein Highlight dieser Platte. Die Interpreten übertreiben es absichtlich nicht, was definitiv Pappanos Einfluss zuzuschreiben ist, denn dieser ist bekannt dafür sich auf das Wesentliche zu konzentrieren… © Qobuz

Beethovens Fidelio - ein großes Abenteuer

Beethovens Oper Fidelio basiert auf einem Ereignis, das sich während der revolutionären Terrorherrschaft in Frankreich zugetragen hat (eine unerschrockene junge Frau versuchte, als Mann verkleidet, ihren in einem Verlies gefangenen Mann zu retten). Die Oper erlebte ein turbulentes Schicksal und wurde im Laufe der Jahre vielfach überarbeitet. Sie beweist einmal mehr das musikalische Genie des Komponisten, der hier ein Libretto vertonte, das seinen politischen Ansichten entsprach.

Orfeo Orchestra - Französischer Barock des 18. Jh. wiederauferstanden

Das Orfeo Orchestra, unter der Leitung György Vashegyis, das sich seit seinen ersten Veröffentlichungen intensiv mit der französischen Barockmusik beschäftigt, wurde in den letzten Jahren vom Palazetto Bru Zane und insbesondere vom Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles (CMBV) für ihre anspruchsvollen diskografischen Erkundungen des französischen Opernrepertoires in Barock und Klassik ausgezeichnet.

Gounod - Romantiker und Mystiker

Neben seinem älteren Kollegen Berlioz, den er bewunderte, und seinen Schülern Bizet, Saint-Saëns, Massenet, die seinem Glauben an die Kunst huldigten, hat er am meisten zum neuen Aufschwung der französischen Musik in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts beigetragen: Charles Gounod (1818-1893), der charmante Mystiker und Romantiker auf der Suche nach einem neuen Klassizismus, verdankt seine Berühmtheit so einigen Meisterwerken. Seine Ambition ging aber darüber hinaus. Eine florierende Diskografie präsentiert seine vielseitige Musik: Instrumentalmusik, Vokalmusik, geistliche Musik und Opern.
