Star Academie-Gewinnerin Nolwenn Leroy distanziert sich mit ihrem vierten Studioalbum Bretonne weiter von ihrem Talentshow-Background und zollt ihrer Heimat, der Bretagne, mit 13 Tracks Tribut, die auf Gälisch, Englisch, Französisch und Bretonisch gesungen werden. Der von Jon Kelly (Kate Bush, Tori Amos) produzierte Nachfolger zu Le Cheshire Cat et Moi von 2009 enthält Coverversionen sowohl von traditionellen keltischen Songs ("Mna Na H-Eireann") und moderneren Liedern wie Alain Souchons "Le Bagad de Lann-Bihoue" und Christophe Miossecs "Brest" – letzterer schrieb auch die einzige neue Komposition auf dem Album, "Je Ne Serai Jamais Ta Parisienne".
