Originally planned as her sophomore album, Kerli's Utopia landed in shelves as an EP, one that sounds grand, ambitious, and scattershot, or just what a second Kerli album might sound like if it was whittled down to an EP. Perhaps the extra material would help explain the dance diva's evolution from gothic to grand dame, but she's just as persuasive here with this more positive material, especially during the you-only-live-once dance anthem "The Lucky Ones." Fans yearning for her Evanescence-ish material should jump right to the piano-driven "Love Me or Leave Me," or "Chemical," the haunting clover which owes Tori Amos a tip of the hat.
