Il le dit et le répète : s’il continue la musique, c’est en grande partie pour subvenir aux besoins de ses cinq enfants. Ce nouvel album, sa troisième sortie de 2020, est truffé de références à sa descendance et au besoin de se dépasser. Le rap game ne suffit pas, YoungBoy Never Broke Again ne sera plus jamais fauché, ses gamins non plus. Pour ce faire, il embrasse la vague pop trap qui a définitivement envahi les lycées américains et que le pionnier du genre, Lil Wayne, continue de faire perdurer. D’ailleurs, ce dernier est invité sur le titre My Window, où les délires vocaux des deux artistes se confondent. Pourtant, c’est lorsque son côté noir ressort, dans les paroles et les sonorités des prods, que YoungBoy brille le plus.
