Des oratorios de Telemann particulièrement imaginatifs. Au cours de l'année ecclésiastique 1730-1731, Telemann a fait représenter un volume d'oeuvres d'une nature un peu spéciale, parce que des oratorios réguliers devaient être entendus au cours du service religieux. C'est pourquoi ce volume Telemann sur le label cpo est principalement centré sur le magnifique oratorio pour la fête de la Saint-Jean, Gelobet sei der Herr, sur des textes expressifs du poète et musicien Albrecht Jacob Zell. Zell réussit à imaginer des scènes dramatiques, presque théâtrales, fournissant ainsi à Telemann un support idéal pour sa fresque sonore. Non seulement la distribution vocale est extrêmement riche, avec notamment trois basses, mais l'instrumentation est également très riche, avec notamment l'utilisation de quatre cors et de trois flûtes traversières. Une fois de plus, Telemann déploie un large éventail d'expressions. La complainte des Égyptiens sur les enfants tués, en fa mineur et en tournures chromatiques, est singulièrement émouvante ; la représentation du peuple en fuite et de ses poursuivants, qui ne peuvent l'atteindre, est pleine de tension, avec des motifs de doubles croches d'une part et une déclamation syllabique d'autre part. © CPO
